Grateful for Rooster Walk: Finding Home and Appreciating the Present

Words cannot express my overwhelming gratitude for being at Rooster Walk 13, surrounded by the music, my dad, and my sister. Returning to the Virginia scene after being away for so long, I realized how much I had missed its magic.

Lately, I’ve been struggling with my mental health, feeling lost in the chaos of everyday life. But the instant I stepped foot on Pops’ farm, just five minutes before the gate closed, I felt an indescribable sense of belonging. It was as if I had come home after a long journey, and all the weight on my shoulders instantly lifted.

Rooster Walk became more than a music festival; it became a sanctuary where I could truly appreciate the present moment. Surrounded by incredible music, the warmth of family, and the loving embrace of the Virginia scene, I found solace and a renewed sense of purpose.

Amid the festival’s vibrant energy, I let go of worries and doubts. I danced like nobody was watching, laughed like I hadn’t laughed in ages, and connected with incredible souls who shared their stories and support. It was a powerful reminder that I am not alone in my struggles and that healing can be found in the simplest moments.

Rooster Walk reminded me to be present, cherish the beauty that unfolds before me, and appreciate the love and support surrounding me. It was a transformative experience that rekindled my spirit and reminded me of my resilience.

The festival boasted an amazing lineup, featuring renowned bands like Greensky Bluegrass, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, among others. The music was the heartbeat of this gathering, providing a vibrant soundtrack to a weekend of musical immersion and celebration.

But beyond the music, Rooster Walk was a reminder of the power of human connection. I met incredible souls who generously shared their stories and support, showing me that I wasn’t alone in my struggles. In those simple moments of connection and understanding, healing and strength emerged.

Rooster Walk nudged me to be present, to cherish the unfolding beauty around me, and to be appreciative of the love and support that encircled my existence. It was a transformative experience that reignited my spirit and reminded me of my resilience in the face of life’s challenges.

To everyone who made Rooster Walk what it was, thank you. Your music, your smiles, and your presence profoundly impacted my heart. I am forever grateful for this magical journey that brought me home and allowed me to find peace in the present.
