Exploring the Vibrant Lineup: Music at the Intersection Festival 2024

Mark your calendars for September 14th and 15th as Music at the Intersection returns to St. Louis’ Grand Center Arts District, promising a captivating celebration of American music’s diverse tapestry. The festival’s fourth edition unveils a lineup that bridges blues, jazz, soul, funk, R&B, hip-hop, and rock n’ roll, showcasing over 50 artists across four stages nestled within the vibrant urban landscape.

Kicking off on Saturday, September 14th, expect an electrifying mix of performances featuring the psychedelic-soul sounds of Black Pumas, the rhythmic beats of OutKast’s Big Boi, the future-funk vibes of Lettuce, and the hometown nostalgia of Chingy with hits like “Right Thurr.” Joining the lineup are Afro-Cuban funk phenomenon Cimafunk, Joe Russo’s new Selcouth Quartet, soulful crooner Lady Wray, and many more, promising a day of eclectic musical journeys.

As the festival crescendos into Sunday, September 15th, groove to the timeless funk of Chaka Khan, feel the New Orleans spirit with Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and immerse yourself in the eclectic jazz stylings of Esperanza Spalding. Joining the stage are jazz virtuoso Stanley Clarke, pedal steel maestro Robert Randolph, and a host of other talented performers, ensuring a soul-stirring finale.

Sunday’s highlights also include a special performance by St. Louis-native jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold, featuring surprise guests and spotlighting his acclaimed 2024 album, “Foreverland,” with collaborations from the likes of Common, Robert Glasper, and PJ Morton. Additionally, Harrold will curate special activations and performances throughout the event, adding an extra layer of excitement.

Beyond the music, Music at the Intersection 2024 offers a Sunday Gospel Brunch, a bustling city market, captivating art activations, and more, creating an immersive experience for music lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike.
