Peter Rowan Part 2, a conversation

Peter Rowan Part 2, a conversation

When I was a kid we spent a lot of time in the mountains of North Carolina, interacting with family friends who were old-time mountain folk.  As a kid, I often found myself just sitting and listening to stories about the old days in the mountains and learning about the Appalachian way of life.  Sort of a fly on the wall for the stories and history that was shared amidst conversation.  I wish I had been recording those conversations!  Fortunately for my meeting with Peter Rowan, I got to be that fly, with my recorder rolling, before I was able to get around to my planned interview. It just so happened that before we could get down to business he had some catching up to do with a few different friends and I was content to sit back, press record, and listen to the stories and pleasant conversation that followed.  And, even though recorded in a busy hotel lobby, the audio is good enough to be worth posting here.  No interviewing involved but still plenty of insight into the music that plays the band that is Peter Rowan. I hope you enjoy it.  Learn about typhoons in Hawaii, Contrabandistas, healthy living and Buddhism, and the biographical book being worked on by the mysterious “Joe”…
